Informative Training on Violence Against Women Organized

Fırat University Faculty of Health Sciences hosted an important event to raise social awareness. Elazığ Provincial Directorate of Social Services Violence Prevention and Monitoring Center (ŞÖNİM) trainers organized an informative training on “Violence against Women”.

Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Gamze Kırkıl, faculty members and many students attended the program held in the faculty conference hall.

In the conference, both concrete and abstract dimensions of violence against women were discussed. Educators provided detailed information to the participants about the types of physical, psychological, economic and sexual violence. In addition, the legal regulations and protective measures implemented by the state to prevent violence against women were also explained.

The presentation also provided information on how women who are victims of violence can exercise their legal rights and the institutions they can apply to. In particular, information about the protection measures provided under Law No. 6284 and the Women's Support Application (KADES) was presented with examples. At the end of the event, students and academics asked questions on the subject and exchanged information in an interactive environment.

At the end of the conference, Prof. Dr. Gamze Kırkıl pointed out the importance of such events in terms of social awareness and thanked the trainers of Elazığ Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services for their contribution
