Dear Students and Distinguished Families,

     The important task of university education is to provide society with individuals who can perform their profession by instilling certain equipment in their students within the framework of social values. With the developments in social, economic, health and technological fields, universities play a major role in raising scientific capital and developing knowledge.

     As the Faculty of Health Sciences, in the light of global advances and developments, we aim to educate individuals who are educated with a rational perspective and modern approaches based on technology, respectful to values, have a certain equipment in the field of health, and love their profession, taking into account social needs.  

     Fırat University Faculty of Health Sciences, which strives to educate our students studying in the programs of our faculty in a quality that can create a brand in the field of health, was established as Elazığ School of Health in 1996 with the decision of the Council of Ministers on 10.10.1996. Elazığ School of Health, which started to admit students in the 1997-1998 academic year, was transformed into the Faculty of Health Sciences with the decision of YÖK in 2015 and has continued its scientific studies as a faculty since then.

   The Faculty of Health Sciences includes the departments of Nursing, Midwifery, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, offering a four-year undergraduate degree. Our students receive both theoretical and practical training in the healthcare sector, enabling them to develop creative and scientific solutions to health problems. Our faculty, affiliated with the Fırat University Health Sciences Institute, offers thesis-based master's programs in the Departments of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, while the Department of Internal Medicine offers doctoral programs. Numerous graduate students who have achieved proficiency in their fields have earned the title of scientific specialist through their work and have been employed in the healthcare sector.

     Our faculty continues to work as an ideal educational institution with its preferred scientific studies, whose graduates have the chance to be employed in the public and private sectors. I hope that new achievements will be added to our successes as the "Shining Star of Science" with our strong academic staff, our devoted administrative staff, our graduates and students who continue their education, whose professional and personal development we always support.
