Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women and is largely curable with early detection. Raising awareness can reduce mortality rates by increasing public participation in early detection and screening programs. In addition, preventing misinformation about breast cancer, enabling individuals to make more informed decisions about their health, and introducing both physical and psychological support mechanisms increase the importance of the event.
On this meaningful day, Fırat University Midwifery Department and Midwifery Student Community organized an event to raise breast cancer awareness in cooperation with the Provincial Health Directorate and Fethi Sekin City Hospital management. Prof. Dr. Gamze KIRKIL, Dean of Fırat University Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Gamze KIRKIL, Head of Midwifery Department Assoc. Dr. Evrim ÇELEBİ, Midwifery Department lecturers and students, Provincial Health Directorate Head of Public Health Services, Provincial Health Directorate employees, Fethi Sekin City Hospital management participated in the event. Informative stands were set up to raise awareness in the society, to emphasize the vital importance of early diagnosis and to raise awareness of women at the point of protecting their own health.
